In Ohio, the landlord is under no duty to take rent late. But the practical side of this is that if you start waving hundred dollar bills in a landlord's face, he will often base his decision more on economics than upon whether or not he has the right to continue with the lawsuit. This is especially the case when winter is approaching. Landlords don't like to pay to heat vacant property even to just 57 degrees to keep the pipes from freezing all winter long.
