Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio
Hello,
My wife signed a 1 year lease on Friday for an apartment. She paid for the year in advance. She thought she wanted to separate from me. After 1 sleepless night she decided she may have made a mistake. This morning she contacted the owner and asked if they would help her out of the lease. They told her they had never had this happen and they would think about what they wanted to do. Is there any way out of this besides getting divorced and her living there for the year?
I appreciate any help.

The landlord should let her out of the lease since she gave notice quickly. However, he could still attempt to hold it over her head.
A letter from an attorney may be all that is needed. Additionally, you may lose your deposit and have to pay a month's rent.
I would love to help in any way that I can. Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at [email protected] or [email protected].
I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day.
