my landlord gave me a 30 days to vacate and my rent is paid up.can she still evict us without going to court .Last month I went to the Veterans Services to get help, and I went to my landlords house to have for sign the paper and so she refused and said "I'm not signing anything to help you get anything for free." then she asked if I'd have the rent and I told her that I'll next week and then walked out.

A landlord cannot legally evict someone without filing an eviction action in a court of law. If a landlord removes a tenant without following the proper procedures in court, the landlord is said to be resorting to "self help," and the landlord may be liable for damages.
Many landlords threaten, intimidate and harass their tenants because filing an eviction action with the court is a expensive and time-consuming process. They would prefer the tenant leave on his or her own because it would save the landlord time and money.
