Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio

Can a landlord refuse to rent me an apartment based on a 1995 misdemeanor battery conviction punished by one year probation? It was domestic battery, though the conviction is just battery. It was in Indiana, and the apartment is in Ohio.

It depends. How many apartments does this landlord own? Did he tell you that the reason he is not renting to you is due to this conviction?

Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at either [email protected] or [email protected]. My phone number is 330-447-7634. I am happy to help in any way that I can.
