Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio
I live in Monroe, Ohio. My furnace went out in my town home last thursday. ( a week ago) I have two small children, and have been left with only a space heater to keep my two story apartment warm. they have repeatedly told me that it was going to be fixed on certain days, and now we have hit a week. The apartment is below 57 degrees on the floor that the space heater is not on. I have called every person in the management branch all the way up to the president of CMC properties. No one will help me. They simply keep telling me that the space heater will suffice for a family of four. ( i have a 3 year old and a 1 year old). what are my legal rights at this point as a tennant? i have had several problems with them. Are they breaching contract? Can ask for pro-rated return rent?
