Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio
A partnership located in Licking Co. and property in Muskingum county. I (manager) have a written lease with tenant stating management will pay "none" utilities and tenants pay "all". They were there for just under two years, never changed utilities into their name and didn't pay bills half the time. I would like to take them to small claims, however amt is just under $5000.00. I'm not sure how to proceed - Can I file more than one complaint to keep it within the dollar amts and which county would I file in?

You would need to take them to the court of common pleas since the amount is over $3,000. I would be happy to represent you or I can draft the necessary documents for you if you would like to represent yourself.
Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at [email protected] or at 330-447-7634. I am happy to help in any way that I can.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
