In Ohio, I would call the base legal office and ask them if they would provide you with an attorney to show up and assert your rights under the Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act which allows lawsuits to be stayed while a defendant in the lawsuit is on active duty in an area that would prevent him from being able to appear and defend.

If the base legal office can't help you, then you should attend the hearing and tell them that your husband is in the military and that you are asking for the matter to be stayed pursuant to the Soliders and Sailors Relief Act since your husband is on active duty.
