Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio

A section 8 apartment complex. We have ask the tenant not to allow their front doors to stand open. Each unit is equiped with 2 air conditions.\n\nThe apartment complex is near homeless shelters, half-way house, and a lot of sex offenders live in the area. Therefore, we say to the tenant keep yourself safe, do not allow the door to be open. We are finding a number of tenants do this.\n\nIt is not safe becasue of the number of men that walk through the property.\n\nMy Question: Can the landlord send notice that we are not responsible for any criminal act because someone walks into a apartment (the front door is open and not secure) and commit a criminal act?\n\nThank you cs

You could send notice but there is the chance you could still be liable. Also, I would put this in the lease as well.

Does the current lease mention this? Do you have signs hanging anywhere that address this issue?
