Re: Security Deposits

The landlord must return your security deposit within thirty days or provide an itemization list of claimed deductions along with the balance of any security deposit provided you have left a forwarding address with the landlord or the landlord has actual knowledge of your new address. If you are having an issue with getting your deposit please contact me.

Re: Security Deposits

A landlord has 30 days from the date you give them your new address to return a security deposit. If they do not give you an itemized list of damages within the 30 days you can sue them for twice the amount wrongfully withheld plus attorneys fees. If they can show that they have legitimate deductions for the full security deposit, even after 30 days, you will not be able to collect anything.
