Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Ohio
As a tenant of an apartment in Columbus Ohio, what is the best course of action to handle a dispute between myself and another tenant. There have been multiple complaint calls from the tenant below myself and my roomate, the only problem is the times given during the complaint are between 1am and 5am. Neither of us are home at this time due to our work schedules. The tenant also knocked on our door at 9am demanding we move our vehicles. To my knowledge there is no assigned parking for each apartment unit. Any advice?

Inform your landlord of the situation. The last thing you want (assuming you like the apartment you rent, aside from this problem with your neighbor) is for your landlord to hear a one-sided and misleading account from your neighbor, which could lead to your landlord choosing to decline to renew your lease, or worse, choosing to evict you.
Write a letter to your neighbor, copying your landlord, explaining that the noise is not coming from your unit, due to your work schedule. Respectfully assert that you believe there to be no assigned parking, and therefore, you will continue to park as you please. Suggest that the neighbor speak to the landlord if they have a complaint about the lack of assigned parking.
Best of luck to you.
