Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Ohio

Holding paperwork for ransome.

The judge in our case has make a ruling and has required, the other lawyer, not mine to prepare a Judgment Entry in Consistent with the magistrates decision as amended by the findings. I was informed by my lawyer that he has completed this but will not submit it to the courts until part of the rulings have been meet, which is pay part of his bill. The courts did award him an amount but no time frame, also the divorce decree has not been issued as of yet so how can part of the rulings be enforced. Is this ethical or legal?

Re: Holding paperwork for ransome.

Your message doesn't supply me with enough information to give you an opinion, but it sounds like you are supposed to pay the other attorney some of his fees and you don't want to. I can't answer a question without knowing all of the facts.
