Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Ohio

The Board Does Not Care

I filed a complaint aginist an attorney who mis-represented me. The ralationship lasted for 10 uyears and i was not happy to file my complaint. The Disiplanry Counsel dismissed my complaint and found no wrong doing on the part of the attorney.

This is a fragrant miscarrage of justice. The ones I depended on to correct this wrong created another wrong. I was not contacted by the concil while the process was being conducted.

Is there anything further I can do?

Re: The Board Does Not Care

There is no appeal from the decision of a disciplinary board, even for the Disciplinary Counsel. This is one of the weaknesses (from the complainant's point of view) of the system.

The time limit for filing a legal malpractice action is one year from the date of discovery of the malpractice, or the date of termination of the attorney-client relationship, in some situations. You may wish to consult someone as to the facts in your case.

Good luck!
