Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Ohio

I had Essure tubal done in December 2008. Several days later I knew something was wrong. In January I went to the Dr who performed the surgery and told him about the pain I was experiencing. His analysis was, the Essure procedure isn't painful and perhaps I wasn't prepared for having this type of surgery. I interpreted: I wasn't psychologically ready for a sterilization procedure and therefore the pain was "in my head." Once month later I had the followup test and he stated, "Everything looks great". I started taking Tylenol and continued this way for 18 months. Changed GYN's and the new doctor insisted that the inserts had to come out. In May of 2010 I had a hysterectomy during which it was discovered that during placement the Dr. had perforated the uterus and part of the insert was scarred into the uterus and the rest of it had gotten tangled in the omentum which what was causing all the pain. Are there any grounds for suing the first doctor (who would not follow up on my concerns) for the amount to "fix" his mistake? Thank you.

It sounds like you may have a medical malpractice claim. What is necessary is for your second doctor to confirm that there was an error and that he would be willing to testify to that.
