Re: How long?

The time limit for filing a medical malpractice action is short! Generally one year from the date of the occurence. There are a variety of things that can give you more time. If you didn't know that complications were the result of malpractice, you may have more time. If the victim of the malpractice was a minor at the time of the malpractice, there may be more time.

An attorney experienced in handling medical malpractice cases will be able to answer your questions. Most attorneys who do this kind of work will be glad to talk to you for free. Attorney fees are usually contingent on a successful outcome.

You should talk directly to an attorney as soon as possible. I have been handling these types of cases, including a number of birth trauma cases, for over 30 years and will be happy to talk to you if you call-no charge or obligation. Call or email me your contact information and I will call you.

Please don't rely on information you recieve on the internet. It is usually accurate but may not fit your specific case. Call me (or another attorney experienced in this unique area of the law) as soon as possible. Take advantage of the Free Advice!!

Good Luck
