Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

How much shall I ask for compensation in pains and sufferings?

Here is a brief description of my case:

I was involved in an accident on 11/10/00. The other party was given citation. I was taken to hospital for possible head injuries. Luckily there were none. BUT I did suffer from whiplash and imflammed side of forehead. I lost a day of work and was in terrible pain for two weeks. This restricted me from my daily activities. My wife also suffered from unneccessary inconvinience as she was full term pragnent. The other party disputed the liability and it wasted 2 months and finally other insurance company has accepted the liabilty.

My question is:

1. How much shall I ask for pain and sufferings?

2. Shall I ask for any comp for inconviniences?

3. Is there any other thing I shall consider?

I will appreciate your response.

Thanks

There is no set number that correlates with pain and suffering for any person. It all depends on the individual. Additionally,I usually advise my clients to wait a minimum of six months before the injury claim is settled so that we can see if any further problems develop. You should ask for your lost wages. Decreased activites can be included in pain and suffering.
