Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio
Injury of child at major retail store
My 18 month old fell and hit a screw on a grill at a major department store. We had the store call 911, his head was squirting blood, never seen anything so awful. The EMT arived right away and everything was checked and we were told to take him directly to the hospital. I went around outside with my other children to get the car while my husband was finishing up with the injured child inside the store. The store manager made him show them exactly what happened and where, this in mind while holding our very injured child. I thought this was way out of place. Afterwards I rushed him to the hospital, his head no longer gushing blood but left with a very awful hole. My husband is there while im at home with my other children, our 18 month old, the emt said at least get stitches. I was wondering, will the store have to pay for these medical bills and will there be any other compensation? Shouldnt the manager get in some sort of trouble for being so careLESS! I would like some advice for taking care of this situation. Thank you

Re: Injury of child at major retail store
While it may have seemed a bit callous for the store manager to be concerned about where and how the injury occured, it is his job to identify the problem and correct it before another incident happens. With that said, the store should take care of the medicals and any other incidentals that arise from the accident.
The store's insurance should have been notified already. Ideally you should get an attorney to deal with the insurance company/store. Feel free to call me if you have any further questions.216-292-4900
