Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Injury at Family Members Home:

While assisting a family member with pouring a comcrete slab, a member of the family was thrown from a concrete buggy and landed on his back on a concrete drveway. This family member broke his lower vertebre and will be laid up for 3-4 months. What exactly does home owners insurance cover? The insurance company has stated that the home owner was not neglegent and that they will give good will gesture of a $1000.00 check to help with medical bills and that is it. What does home owners insurance cover and does this seem right to you? Will the family member have to sue his family? Will making a claim against the insurance company with a lawyer personally affect the home owner?

Your question raises a number of issues! The answer to your question could be that the homeowners insurance should pay.

Who was doing the cement work? Was there an outside contractor involved? Was anyone getting paid?

Was the concrete buggy rented? What caused the family member to be thrown from buggy?
