Insurance companies base the value of a claim, in part, on the nature and extent of the physical injuries that a person suffered as a result of the accident. In making this determination, the insurance company will look at the amount of treatment that a person received for the injuries. The more limited the treatment, the less value the insurnace company assigns to the claim. This, of course, is not really a good way to determine the nature and extent of a person's injuries as the person may have reasons, such as yours, for not continuing treatment even though he or she may still be experiencing problems from the injuries. If there is any medical payments coverage for the vehicle you were occupying at the time of the accident, that coverage may be able to be used to pay additional medical bills.
