Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Legal responsibility for a fall.

I would like to know if there has ever been a case where a building owner has been found responsible or guilty for a slip or fall due to a roof leak. If so may I please have information on that particular case. If there has never been such a case do you feel that a building owner could have a chance in winning such a case, assuming that it would come to that. Thank you very much for your time, it is greatly appreciated.

Re: Legal responsibility for a fall.

There are hundreds of cases like the one you described. The facts that will determine the building owner's liability are

1) whether the building owner was aware of the leak and for how long

2) whether the person who was injured knew about the leak or the water on the floor.

3) whether there is any relationship between the owner and injured person.
