Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio
I was at my mother's apartment on 4/25/11 staning on her front deck with grand daughter and an extenstion ladder fell on me and hit my back. The owner of the apartment complex was working on the roof. The squad was called and I was taken to hospital, luckly nothing was broke. I was off work for 4 days and my back still hurts and is bruised real bad. Do I have a right to sue the owner of the apartments?

The owner of the apartment complex is legally responsible for the injuries you experienced. I suspect that the owner probably maintained insurance for the complex and you will probably be contacted by an insurance adjuster. If the owner did not notify his insurance company you should make sure that he does as you are entitled to recover the medical costs, lost wages and an amount for your pain and suffering. If you require further medical treatment for your back you should consult with your doctor and seek further treatment. You may also wish to consider retaining an attorney if you continue to have problems much longer. I would suggest having someone take photographs of the bruising before it fades. The insurance company will gladly pay any out of pocket medical expenses, your lost income and an amount for your pain and suffering. The pain and suffering is difficult to evaluate at this time until it is determined if you return to your pre-injury condition or require further treatment and have pain and limitations for additional weeks or months. I would suggest that you consult with an attorney in your area as you do have legal rights and should talk to an attorney before giving a statement to an insurance adjuster. Good luck and I hope this is helpful.
