Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Personal Injury Statute of Limitations

I was injured on the playground at a national restaurant when I was a child. My parents received very little compensation and I received nothing. We have all the documentation from the event. I suffered a severely broken arm and had to be kept in hospital alone which was quite traumatic for a child of 9 years.

Re: Personal Injury Statute of Limitations

The statute of limitations for personal injury is 2 years. However, if the person injured is a minor, the statute does not begin running until the person reaches the age of 18.

If your parents did receive some compensation, it is likely they had to sign a waiver giving up their right to sue in exchange for the money.
