Property damage by guests of a roommate

My roomate had a party after a performance that he had. During his party my car was damaged and a video was stolen from the house. I was wondering if he is responsible for these damages because everyone in the house that evening were his guests.

He may be held responsible if you can show that he provided the alcohol and did not serve responsibly in that he stopped people before they got out of hand.
