Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Statute of Limitations OH

Can you point me to the applicable statutes for filing a claim against my buildr for negligence in improper placement of a sewer pipe? The symptoms were first discovered in March 93. However, we were unable to prove the cause of water damage until the site was excavated in July 1997. If the statute has expired for a property damage claim, isn't there an applicable extension if the defect and thus the negligence wasn't known until later? Thanks.

Statute of Limitations OH

Generally speaking the statute of limitations is absolute, unless the plaintiff was incompetent (underage, insane, in a coma, retarded, sometimes in the service) or the defendant actively and intentionally concealed the problem. But this is the kind of question that will require an attorney licensed in your own state to give you a definitive answer.I encourage you to call to someone to schedule a free office consultation to discuss the facts in detail to determine whether you have a case you want to proceed with to court... and whether that attorney is the one to do it.Good luck.
