Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

victom of a crime

i was at a friends house picing up my girlfriend when the girls house we were at and here husband came home grab a gun shot it off then came and put it in our faces telling us that he goin to kill us. we got in to a fight a i broke my hand. this happened bout a year. my hand is mess up bad. i want to know if i can stll sue him.

Before I can answer I need some information. Has it been over a year? What County is it in? Also, though it may not seem so there may be a source of insurance available.
