Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio
workman's comp/personal injury
I fell on ice in the parking lot at work and I have a workman's comp lawyer. However, it has been denied by all levels at workman's comp because the lot was not controlled by my employer. We are now appealing to the courts. However, the lot was controlled by the landlord of the building that leases out office space. The insurance company for the building has contacted me and states it will pay up to 5000 in my medical bills but do I have a case that a personal injury lawyer will take to get my pain and suffering ?

If the insurance company of the building is offering you $5000 up front, then chances are you have a good case for more than that. Generally an insurance company will offer the least amount of money they think will make you go away.
There are many factors that can determine the value of a case, and I definitely think it would be a good idea to at least meet with a personal injury lawyer to see what he or she thinks the value and strength of your case may be.
If you have further questions or would like to schedule a time to speak more specifically about your accident, feel free to contact me.

If the property owner was negligent in not removing the ice then you probably have a case that a personal injury lawyer would take on a contingent basis. The specific details of your case and the condition of the parking lot need to be examined. Feel free to contact our office for a free consultation.
