Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio
broken lease on credit report
Can a property owner put a broken lease on your credit report with-out ever taking me to court for a judgement. If so, do I have any way of getting it off. They (property owners) have it listed as a installment loan, with a charge off.

Re: broken lease on credit report
I believe your former landlord is within its legal rights listing the broken lease as a defaulted obligation to pay future installments. You can write a letter of explanation to the credit reporting services and ask that it be included with your report. Depending upon the relationship with your former landlord, you may be able to persuade them to delete this notation from your record. (They may request some compensation, especially if there were any damages or clean-up costs, or if they were unsuccessful in re-renting for a significant period.)
