Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio
Should I close on my new house before the new roof is even started which is being paid by the seller and put in escrow? Should my inspector approve before I close?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Dear Purchaser: I do not recommend it. Have the seller complete a proper, satisfactory roof replacement before you put your signature and hard-earned cash on the line. Have it fully inspected for quality and quantity, etc. and then proceed with the sale and transfer of title.
Never buy a sick horse or a sick house, needing repair before it is done...properly!!!
That's my 2 cents' worth.
Good luck.
Sincerely,
