Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Deed Ownership

My mother in law deeded us her farm in May 2001. She

is now claiming that my husband forced her to by ''breaking things'' in her home. She had the farm willed to him, and in this quit claim deed she has life time estate. There are alot of repairs needed and we agreed to do so, and we are. She now wants us

to deed the property back. At this time there are no

liens, and it is recorded in the local county, and taxes are paid up to date. Can she force us to deed it back? She still lives there, and we take care of her.

Re: Deed Ownership

The worst possible scenario is that your mother can show duress and have the transfer rescinded. Thsi will have to be proven by clear and convincing evidence adn will be difficult for her to show.

Good Luck!!!
