Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio
Due to the economy my homes value is much less than i owe. this passed summer my basement has flooded twice due to the cities neglect of the storm sewers. my basement also flooded once in 2007. the city has since contracted a company to clean out the sewers but the damege is done. my wife and i have been wanting to relocate to arizona but now we feel stuck in this home because no one will buy it with the history of flooding. is there any legal action i can take against the city for damages.

Sovereign immunity prevents most suits against municipalities. Have you checked your property insurance policy to see if it provides coverage for flooding damage? If not, you may have to declare bankruptcy and surrender the property to your lender. Definitely worth a trip to a lawyer.
