Elderly Aunt
My wife has an 83 year old aunt who has asked us to sell our house and she sell hers so that we buy a larger house big enough for all of us, so we may take care of her. should some day if she were to have to go to a nursing home would they be able to take our home if it is in ours and her names.

You need th meet with an elder law attorney, who can evaluate the entire situation. Based on the limited information in your question, you may want to consider giving your wife's aunt a life estate only, so she is assured of a place to live as long as she is physically able to stay there, but there is no issue of ownership.
