Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio
We emtered into a land contract with our landlord, a real estate attorney. I have taken a job in another part of the state and we need to move for it. Is it possible to get out of a land contract?

Dear Moving: You may be able to avoid the land contract, depending upon the specific terms of the agreement. Is there an "escape" clause, i.e. a clause orvterms providing for such event as your having to move?
I think any Court would support your right to cancel, in view of your relocation, and your landlord should also be cooperative and permit you to cancel, with reasonable notice, and without any unreasonable claim for loss of rental or purchase.
Good luck. Sincerely, J. Norman Stark.
