What does excise or similar taxes mean on the sale of a doulbe wide trailer?

Re: excise taxes
An excise tax is similar to a sales or transfer tax on the transfer or sale of goods, including your mobile home. The amount of the tax depends upon the tax rate and the amount or value of the transfer or sale. Consult your County Tax Commissioner or Auditor for the rate, then multiply it by the amount of your sale or transfer. That's the tax due.
