Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Federal Tax Liens

My Mother-In-Law wants to add her daughter to her real estate poperty as JTWROS.

Would the property then be subject to her daughters federal Liens against her.

Could my Mother-in_law then lose the house or equity in the house to satisfy her daughters Liens?

Re: Federal Tax Liens

If the tax liens are refiled after the transfer, they would attach to your sister in law's interest in the property, and the liens could be foreclosed.

If this is being done so your sister in law is guaranteed a place to live, your mother in law should consider a trust owning her house, with the trustee allowing your sister in law to live there after your mother in law's death.
