Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Home owned by person with alias

I would like to know how to get a deed in my name only, as the home was purchased by myself and exboyfriend whom I found out has an alias name and social security number? What steps can I take to protect myself on the ownership of this home?

The easiest way to get the house out of your ex boyfriend's name is to have him quit claim his interest to you. Assuming that he will not voluntarily sign over his interest in the house, you may need to buy his half of the house from him. Furhter if the nice way does not work, you will have to do a "partition action" wherein the property may be sold at sheriff's sale and the proceds given to you(once the banks are paid off). Once a person is placed on the title, it is very difficult to get them off if they do not want to come off.
