Dear Faithful: Under Ohio law, your spouse retains dower rights. However, upon filing for divorce, your Attorney should present your case and the significant payments you have made, requesting the Court to make a division and provision in the divorce decree granting you the significant interest based upon your contributions.

Br prepared to prove your case with receipts, check stubs, bank statements, etc. and retain a doggone good Attorney - a tough one with sharp teeth and guts to represent you. This is war, take no hostages! Good luck. Sincerely, J. Norman Stark
