Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Land Contract

My boyfriend and I bought a house in 2006. Now we have broken up. We both want the house. We bought the house on land contract and now the seller of the home stated that he does not want me to have the house but the boyfrend can stay there but the only way he can stay there if I sign a quick claim deed. If I do not sign away the house the ex-boyfriend has to move as well. Could I ask the seller or the ex to buy me ou? what are my rights in this situation?

Re: Land Contract

Without seeing your contract it is difficult to determine. If the installments are being paid, the owner probably cannot terminate the contract. You certainly can request to be bought out, but unless the contract requires it, you cannot force a buyout. You need to have your contract reviewed.
