land contract

I entered in to the land contract a 11 months ago, the contract is for 36 months. The Vender want me to buy now. She claims that her lawyer says that she can get out of the contract because of emotional stress because losing her husband 6 weeks before the contract was signed. The idea of the land contract came after her husband died. She needed to leave town and could not aford the payment.

It seems as though the Vendor is buying a law suit. You have 36 months to refinance. I would recommend that you make all payments timely as the Vendor could evict you if they are not timely made and you have paid less than 20% of the principle down. I would contact a lawyer to review your specific land contract to preserve your rights.
