landlord entering home

under what circumstances may a landlord enter the home of a tenant? Does the landlord have to give the tenant a notice if he plans to enter the home?

Normally, a landlord must give reasonable notice to enter the premises. Reasonable is defined as 24 hours. The landlord can not abuse this by inspecting at an unreasonable time or too frequently.

If there is an emergency, the landlord does not have to give notice. An emergency would have to be severe, such as a fire, flood or other natural disaster.
