Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

lowered property value

a huge empty mill burned down last week across from my parents house. The owner refuses to clean it up even though it is an eyesore and continue to exposes them to toxic chemicals. Can they do anything to regain their lost property values due to the toxins and the unattractiveness of the mill?

Re: lowered property value

Dear Trobuled Homeowner:

Your parents may contact and complain, in writing, via Certified Mail, to the municipal Building Department, the Ohio Department of Health, the EPA, and the State's Attorney-General. Next, the media, i.e. the newspapers, TV, etc.

Best yet, contact an experienced Attorney to guide and represent them and their best interests, aggressively.

Good luck!

Sincerely, J. Norman Stark
