mortgage escrow

I would like to be able to pay only my mortgage and interest on my home, therefore my question is. Is there any way to get out of paying into an escrow account for local taxes and insurance?

The agreement to escrow taxes and insurance is a private agreement between you and your lender. There is no law requiring this. You should look for a lender who does not require this as a condition of granting you a loan.
