Need help in Ohio

Is it possible for me to sign over our property to another person since the deed is in my name before my husband files for divorce?

Dear Madam: Yes, you may transfer your property to another, not your spouse, before your divorce, provided it is for value, i.e. a valid transfer. However, under the laws of dower, your Husband, like it or not, owns a 1/2 interest in and to the property, merely by being your Husband. He may also assert that right by stating that he provided labor and maintenance during the years you both lived there. This is a difficult question, since the Court may wish to consider the equities and you might be required to share eqwually the money proceeds from any sale. Good luck.
