Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Owner selling, what are my rights

My landlord is selling the property. The lease states Landlord/Tenant must give 60 days written notice prior to the end of the term. If Landlord sells now(11/00)lease ends 1/01 what recourse do I have. Also, I plan to escrow my rent do to maintenance issues. How does this effect things?

Re: Owner selling, what are my rights

The new owners take subject to your lease. In other words, your lease is still valid and the new owners can not evict you just because there are new owners. As to the rent escrow; there is no problem placing the rent in escrow. The two owners of the property will fight over who gets the money. Maybe the new owner will be willing to make the repairs voluntarily without having to escrow the rent.
