Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Property held at ex boyfriends house

Hello, my ex boyfriend and I lived together for over 4 years. About 1/3 of my stuff including clothing and goods are still at his home while I moved in to an apartment 6 months ago. I try repeatedly to set up an amiacle meeting with him present to retrieve the rest of my property but he refuses. Do I have any legal recourse? Can I force him to allow me access so that I can gather my things? How should I go about doing this? Thanks!

Re: Property held at ex boyfriends house

You can sue in small claims up to $3000 for the reasonable value of your property. You are alleging he has converted your property. You will most likely get current value, not replacement value.

If you want to get the specific property back, you must sue on the regular docket for replevin. This would be more expensive, and very difficult to do without your attorney's help.
