Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Quitclaim deed question

I have downloaded a quitclaim deed form from findlegalforms so that I can file a quitclaim on my ex-wife's house. It is for Ohio, specifically Hamilton County. I understand all of the form except for the first line. Can you explain what it means and if I need to change it for my situation? The first line states: ''FOR A VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, in the amont of TEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($10.00) in hand and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned...''

I'm not sure what the $10.00 relates to, and if it applies to my situation. My ex-wife bought a house before we finished our divorce. I am not on the mortgage, but she is trying to refinance, and they need the quitclaim form filled in for her to complete her re-finance. Please help.

Thanks,

Tony Coors

Re: Quitclaim deed question

The $10 is a recital of consideration, not a statement of the amount actually paid. it is part of the form.
