Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio
What rights one person has in a joint deed to have a nonowner move out
My daughter and her fiance purchased a home with joint with rights to survivorship deed. His friend moved in to help off set some cost until they get married. There was nothing in writing, just a verbal agreement. It is not working out with my daughter and she has asked him to move out, giving him 2 months notice to find something. He is refusing and her fiance says he can stay. What legal action can she take as joint owner of the home?

You, as an owner of the property, may have to file an eviction against your 'friend". There is a specific proceedure to follow, adn you should consult local counsel to ascertain the precise forms for your locality. The problem will result when your husband wants him to stay and you want him to go. You need to discuss this with your partner.
Good Luck!!!!
