Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Spousal Property

I am a single mother who just bought a home on my own income, as the children's father is unemployed (by choice). I plan on marrying him at some point, but my question is: if we get divorced, will he be entitled to 50% of the house, even though he has not financially contributed to the down payment nor monthly payments?

Re: Spousal Property

There are various ways to handle this. For example, you could have him sign a prenuptial agreement before you get married saying the house belongs to you. Another way is to have the title to the house in your name only (although that could have different effects on your estate in the event that you pass away before him while you are still married).
