Legal Question in Social Security Law in Ohio
My husband and I are 9 months behind on our mortgage. And my vehicle ( which is in my name only ) is about to be repoed. My husband has been laid off from work for 15 months and I am disabled and receive SSDI. My husband cannot file Bankruptcy due to his last one being less than 5 years ago. if our home goes into foreclosure and my vehicle gets repoed, can the creditors garnish my Social Security Disability payments I receive ? I've heard I'm exempt from creditors but also heard there is a loophole they can get around and take my SSDI ? What is true ? Thanks
