Legal Question in Social Security Law in Ohio
IS THERE A MINIMUM AMOUNT THAT THE GOVERNMENT MUST ALLOW FOR AN OVER THE ROAD CDL DRIVER TO CLAIM FOR TRAVEL AND MEAL EXPENSES. WOULD THIS AMOUNT BE CLAIMED AS COUNTABLE INCOME BY SSA TO FIGURE SIGNIFICANT GAINFUL ACTIVITY?

In theory your expenses are deducted to determine if your income is too high. But SS will also look at what you are doing and hours spent. If it is comparable to real work, you will be denied, regardless of your profitablity.
