Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio
11 year old speeding ticket
My husband just received a notice from a collections agency saying that he had an Ohio speeding ticket still unpaid. He called the courthouse and the clerk told him the ticket in question was from 1996. He's pretty sure he paid it, but will have to go back and retrieve bank records from 11 years ago to prove it, if that is even possible! Can they still collect on a speeding ticket that is 11 years old, even though this is the first we've heard of it still being outstanding? It just seems to me that asking someone to keep records of their payment of a traffic ticket for over a decade is pretty unreasonable.

You may have to pay the bank to recover the records, but do it. Once you find proof, send it to the court...otherwise...you may always contact me directly.
