accident investigation reports
Is the general public allowed to request an accident investigation report from the county police or sheriff's department? How soon after an accident is it usually available?

Traditionally accident reports are considered public records and are available for the public to request. Some departments have reports available the next day while other departments take a few days before the report is available. A simple phone call to the department will let you know if the report is available or when it should be available for you to obtain a copy.
